Miranda Moore is the Chief Wordwitch. She was a writer and editor in newspapers before moving into book editing and coaching.

She has a degree in English and Philosophy and a Masters in International Peace Studies. In addition to editing, she continues to write fiction and non-fiction. She won the DFB & Arvon Search for a Storyteller competition 2024 and the Wells Festival of Literature Book for Children prize 2023 and was shortlisted for the Society of Authors McKitterick Prize 2026 and the Southern Schools Book Award 2027. She was also shortlisted for the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Awards 2017 and 2020. Miranda is an advisory fellow with the Royal Literary Fund. Her debut novel A Beautiful, Terrible Thing published in October 2025 with David Fickling Books.
