Miranda Moore is the Chief Wordwitch. She was a writer and editor in newspapers before moving sideways into book editing.

She has a degree in English and Philosophy and a Masters in International Peace Studies. In addition to editing, she continues to write fiction and non-fiction. She won the DFB & Arvon Search for a Storyteller competition 2024 and the Wells Festival of Literature Book for Children prize 2023. Miranda is a Royal Literary Fund Fellow 2024–25 and was shortlisted for the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Awards 2017 and 2020. Her debut novel A Beautiful, Terrible Thing publishes in October 2025 with David Fickling Books.
